Behind the VAXA app is a social enterprise called LifeQuest ehf. The owners of LifeQuest are three NGO's, FFF - The Icelandic association of leisure workers, Fritidsforum from Sweden and Setlementti from Finland.
Guðmundur Ari Sigurjónsson is the project manager of VAXA and technical development has been in the hands of Stokkur Software.
VAXA is a subproduct of an Erasmus+ project in Innovation in youth work.
The Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses, founded in 1918, is a life course organisation that consists local Settlements and regional organisations of Settlement Youth across Finland. The settlement movement employs more than 4 000 professionals, and with them a large group of volunteers is involved in the settlement work.
The Icelandic professional association of leisure workers is an NGO for leisure workers working in all sectors of Icelandic leisure work. Icelandic leisure workers work with people in all ages though most of the members are youth workers. The goal of FFF is to increase the level of professionalism in Icelandic leisure work by promoting professionalism, hosting seminars, conferences and study trips.
Fritidsforum is a national federation and have got approx. 500 members organizations consisting of Youth Centers, Settlements and local Youth NGO’s. Fritidsforum was established in 1937 and have since then been supporting the member organizations with e.g. education, policy making and advocacy. Furthermore, Fritidsforum is carrying out projects in cooperation with its members.
